I have had an employer-issued permanent residence visa (green card) for the past few months. Under normal circumstances, it would take 5 years before I can apply to become a citizen of the United States. However, I just got married to lady who is an American Citizen. Is it possible to change my permanent resident visa status from an employer-issued one to that based on marriage to a US citizen?|||Read the rules

If you already have a green card ..you dont need another
File for citizenship 3 years after marriage|||Yes. Your spouse can apply for you to get a green card based on your marriage. It will take three years as the spouse of a citizen to be eligible for naturalization. You simply apply for an adjustment of status.
File Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, and Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, at the same time.
Your green card is provisional for the first two years.
