I'm a Filipino citizen. How can I infinitely stay in the Philippines and maintain my US Green Card status?

I don't intend to abandon my US permanent residency. It's just that I have a business in the Philippines that requires my presence.|||you can't, the Permanent Resident Alien card means what it states that you will reside and work in the u.s. on a permanent basis and not that that you can come and stay at your convenience. you have a choice on were you want to live. so the ball is in your court now, either pass or play|||If immigrations believes that you intended to abandon your permanent residency, you may lose your green card. Your status may be lost if you are out of the country for more than six months; more than a year and it is lost. Returning now and then usually is not enough to keep your status.

If you believe you will be out of the country for more than a year, apply for a re-entry permit before you leave. You can download the required form, I-131, at www.uscis.gov. A re-entry permit does not necessarily guarantee that you will be admitted again with no problems, however.

It is also recommended that you continue filing taxes in the U.S.; maintain an address in the U.S.; keep and renew your drivers license, green card, etc.; keep your credit cards, any property... you get the picture.|||Dude, how many times are you going to ask this question? I've seen this same question on this forum all this week (and part of last week).

Ok, FOR THE LAST TIME! READ MY TYPING! The ONLY way you MIGHT be able to salvage your US Residency is if you apply for "advance parole" (Form 1-131). THis is a form that lets Immigration know that you, as a Green Card Holder, will be outside the USA for more than 1 year. HOWEVER you must apply for this BEFORE you leave the USA. Apparently you already LEFT the USA. You are already in the Phillipines. There is no way you can apply for Advance Parole if you're outside the USA.

Why can't you just become a Citizen? It'll make life so much easier. Green Card Holders should KNOW BETTER than to get jobs that require their extended absence from the USA.

Speak to an attorney, ok?|||GREEN Cards are only TEMPORARY.....sorry, you lose!
