Can credit card companies access ones employment status anytime?

Hi Experts!

My company is having a big round of layoffs in August, and I'm worried that if I get cut my credit card company will find out and then cut my limit or even close my account and make my balance due. I've heard the news going around about banks aggressively cutting credit cards.

So - do they monitor employment status? I know that my job details are listed on my credit report, and i'm a bit worried...

Thanks in advance!

-CF|||No, if you get laid off there wont be any information about that in your credit report. When I checked my credit, it had a previous job still on that which I hadn't worked at in over 5 years.
