I have applied for an H1B visa and it is the first time that I am applying. How soon is it possible for me to apply fro a Green Card if I do get the H1B status? What makes me eligible to apply for a Green Card based on my H1B status?

while an h1b might lead to a green card... it is not the case for everyone.|||H1B's are one of the non-immigrates who can adjust their status to that of an immigrant. The first writer is correct, your employer must petition for you and it is an employment based green card.
