Can I travel to Cuba with just a native status card?

I am looking to travel to Cuba for a few days with some friends but I don't have a Canadian passport. I have heard that using my native status will work as a passport but I don't really have any proof regarding the matter and don't really know how to search on the topic.|||I suspect that Cuba will require a proper passport.

Though you might be better off asking in your own country's section.|||You need to get a passport.|||Native status cards definitely don't work. They have no status anywhere for anything, except maybe at the liquor store.
