Can i get a Metis Status Card even if i'm a quarter native?

I'm a quarter aboriginal cree and i'm wondering if i can get a status card?|||I think you have to prove direct lineage, but call the government to find out what their requirements are.|||Canada recognizes three Aboriginal groups First Nations, Métis and the Inuit.

The Métis are an Aboriginal group with a distinct community/Nation, culture, history and heritage

Most Métis organizations require that you can prove that you descend from a Métis Nation.

The Métis are not First Nations people who have lost their “Status” through Non-status inter-marriage.

First Nations descendents can not become a Métis no more than a First Nation descendent can become an Inuit.

There are groups (of such people) that will sell you a Métis Card but that card means nothing.
