I don't intend to abandon my US permanent residency. It's just that I have a business in the Philippines that requires my presence.|||You can stay up to 12 months without loosing your green card. If you know before you leave that you will require more time outside the US then you can apply for a re entry permit, which will allow you to stay out of the US for up to 2 yrs and still keep your green card.
However know that once you are out of the US for 6 months it resets you residency time clock for requirements for citizenship. You will start back at day one.

1) You don't overshoot a stay for one year, as your status as a green card holder will be deemed "abandoned";
2) Your passport is marked a number of days by the receiving Immigration officers;
3) Just don't get sick or get killed by either traffic, goons, holduppers, kidnappers, and jealous husbands/wives.|||No Beavis, you can't|||Pure and simple, you cannot do what you outline.|||you will lose it eventually ..might as well give it up
