I am on A-1 visa. Have intentions to change my status to wether student or by marriage to green card holder.?

What implications do these both choices have? How realistic and possible is to change status by marrying the green card holder.Please if you know what steps I need to undertake in this case. Do you also think that a lawyer could help. We love each other very much, I have doubts I will be able to get a visa soon to come to US.
